Dr. Inci Zaim Gökbay obtained her bachelor's degree in 2002 from the Department of Electronic Engineering at Işık University, her master's degree with honors in 2007 from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Bahçeşehir University, and her doctoral degree in 2013 from the Institute of Graduate Studies in Science at Istanbul University, Department of Biomedical Engineering. She also earned a second master's degree in Clinical Psychology from the Istanbul Kent University.

Between 2004 and 2014, she served at the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Vocational School at Bahçeşehir University. Since July 2014, she has continued her duties at the Department of Informatics at Istanbul University. Additionally, Dr. Zaim Gökbay taught undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses in English and Turkish at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Istanbul University between 2015 and 2018. She is a founding faculty member of the Developmental Behavioral Disorders and Integrated Approach PhD program at the Institute of Health Sciences, Istanbul University. Furthermore, she has been a visiting researcher at the ICSS center at the University of Kent from October 2023 to November 2024.

Dr. Zaim Gökbay has secured funding for 2 projects from the Istanbul Development Agency, 2 projects from the Istanbul University Research Fund, and 3 projects from other institutions. She also served as a researcher and consultant on European Union and other projects. Under Dr. Zaim Gökbay's supervision, 1 doctoral and 8 master's theses have been completed, and 6 doctoral theses are currently ongoing. Her research output includes 11 articles published in international peer-reviewed journals, 21 international conference papers, and 12 book chapters published by national and international publishers. Additionally, she has 6 articles published in national peer-reviewed journals and 4 national conference presentations.

Dr. Zaim Gökbay is currently developing the Psyche platform in collaboration with three of her PhD students. The Psyche platform aims to enhance the quality of daily life for individuals diagnosed with mental health conditions and provide real-time data transmission to clinicians during follow-up visits, thereby supporting improved treatment quality. The system analyzes clinical findings obtained during physician visits, in conjunction with data collected from smart watches, to predict potential risks and minimize them, ultimately aiming to assist both patients and clinicians in achieving the highest treatment efficiency. The platform is designed with flexible configurations to accommodate the needs of both child and adult mental health patients. For child patients, it establishes a triangular relationship between the school, parents, and clinician, while for adult patients, it has the capacity to gather and analyze data from the therapist, guardian, and clinician. Dr. Zaim Gökbay's experience in designing a model to predict and prevent risky behaviors in children, which was supported by the Istanbul Development Agency and involved a four-year field study with a large team, has contributed to the development of this platform. Data collection for the platform is currently ongoing.

Dr. Zaim Gökbay's research areas encompass biomedical technology and system design, machine learning and artificial intelligence, medical imaging and signal processing, clinical decision support systems, smart mental health integrated system designs, child and adolescent virtual environment safety, and metaverse environment safety.
